Lois is an award winning Best of Missouri Hands artist. Her copper work books enable one to record joyous or serious journeys experienced, memories and thoughts not wishing to be forgotten.
Her uniquely crafted copper jewelry books are left blank for personal writings and drawings. Possible entries include births, deaths, weddings, cancer treatments and trips. Her word books are distinctive using her handmade papers from her garden flowers.
Within my pursuit of exploring the world and my inner self through art, I make handmade papers from various sources: plant fibers, clothing, recycled papers. These papers then exist as separate art works, combined with photographs and stories, cut into book pages or adhered to copper to be cut, filed and assembled into earrings.
